I don’t know how things are going for the rest of you are with your grand plans of getting your toddler to sleep in their own room at night, but my plans are basically NOT working at all. In all honesty, I guess I haven’t put much effort into the transition because, well, I don’t know if he will be my last baby and so why should I be in a hurry to kick him out of our bedroom?
So judge me all you want you strong-willed mommas, I am weak sauce when it comes cuddles from this kid. Also, I haven’t heard of any parent complaining about their 16 yr. old son still sleeping in bed with them, so I’m sure this time will pass soon enough and then I will REALLY miss it.
So Cal’s new “big boy” room sits lovingly ignored, and I walk past it in the hall and smile and shake my head at all the things that I just didn’t realize as a new mom. Like, no, they don’t walk themselves over to their new room and say, “Thanks, mom, this is just what I wanted, now I will leave you and dad alone for long peaceful nights of sleep as I enjoy looking up and appreciating my Up and Atom Chandelier, while cozied up in my Organic Builder’s Sheets. Lol!
Posting the room on here feels kind of redeeming for all the hard work I put into putting it together, and I have added the links below if you want to know where I picked up some of the items. It was really fun to do — maybe when he is seven he will actually use it. Ha!
WHERE’D YOU GET THAT?
